The Chihuahua 10 centavos pieces were produced dated 1915 only.  In his booklet Chihuahua 5 and 10 Centavos, 1994, Mr. Verne R. Walrafen identified a single obverse die and four reverse dies used in their production.  Unlike the 5 centavos pieces, the 10 centavos dies are extremely consistent in orientation of devices and punching of the legend EJERCITO CONSTITUCION-ALISTA and the ornaments on the reverse dies.

Since only one obverse die was used in the production of all of the 10 centavos pieces, the attribution is based solely on the characteristics of the four reverse dies.

1915  TEN CENTAVOS

OBVERSE A:  Paired with REVERSES 1 through 4.

METHOD:

Step 1:  Count the number of lines in the four sections of the diagonal in the ¢ symbol.  This will allow the definite attribution of two of the four varieties.

Step 2:  For the two varieties having the same number of lines in the upper and lower portions of the diagonal (A:2 and A:4) , observe the spacing of the second letter E and the R in EJÉRCITO.  This will allow the separation of the final two varieties.

Space between the second E and the R of EJÉRCITO.

Six lines in bottom section of diagonal, 5 lines in top.

NO space between the second E and the R of EJERCITO.

Six lines in bottom section of diagonal, 5 lines in top.
